Giant paellas for the war in Ukraine

"War... war never changes", this phrase, spoken by Ulysses Grant, has never rung truer than it does today, with the war in Ukraine now two years into the conflict.

It is during these times that our desire for challenge has led us to accept the difficult challenge of ensuring that our paella equipment can reach a war zone. But we have gladly accepted it, knowing that our equipment will be used to help those in Europe who need it most.

This is not the first time we have done this kind of challenge, since the beginning of the war we have sent dozens of similar teams, helping other organisations to receive giant paella equipment, such as World Central Kitchen, with which to help the victims of the war.

We are pleased to know that these giant paella pans and paelleros can be used to help those in need, since, considering the practical use of a paella pan, there is no better utensil for cooking a large number of hot meals in the smallest possible space.

In just 10 square metres, it may be possible to make thousands of daily rations, offering a wide variety of dishes, with a fuel source relatively easy to find in a war zone, where other infrastructures such as electricity may be damaged or inconsistent.

It is against this backdrop of war that people of great heart are most willing to help others, such as the renowned Rachael Ray, host of The Rachael Ray Show, sponsor of this project, who along with her coordinator, Noah Sims, and the help of the Unbroken organisation, have been able to send to the hospital under construction in Kiev, 2 giant paella pans and paella makers, each capable of producing 2,000 servings every 2 hours, the paella rations. 2,000 servings every 2 hours, which together can produce 48,000 servings in a single day, be it paella or any other dish.

We are more than sure that these giant war paellas will help to feed the victims and patients of the hospital, providing an essential and necessary good: a plate of hot food, to all those people who struggle every day to regain their former lives and be free from war.
