Questions and Answers.

Why the name "the art of good rice"?

Hector Medina replies with a laugh: "The name itself I had no idea what to name it, because we were shuffling around a lot and in the end the art of a good rice was the one that stuck. It was quite a difficult task to find a name that I liked for the book, but I'm happy with the one I chose".

What are we going to find in the art of good rice?

"The same as on my Instagram, I wanted to transmit what I transmit on social media on paper so that people who follow me or find me can see it in the book, so that they can also keep it on their shelves without having to use their phone.

Even so, I have included many unpublished recipes, in addition to those that I have already made and explained on my Instagram, so you can also find new recipes that you have never seen before".

Is it easy to understand and use or must you already know how to make rice?

"No, no way, the book is intended for those who don't know rice, even if you have never made any, you can use the recipes to prepare it to perfection at home. For those who already know, it can serve as a way to find new tips and recipes to make".

Are there any recipes in the book that stand out?

"Although I have included a wide variety of recipes, some of them unpublished, I have to admit that I always go back to my favourite rice dishes, Valencian paella and baked rice, what you could call my mum and dad.

Even so, there are some creative recipes that I think will impress and please, for example, a black rice 2.0, enhanced with a fake squid ink caviar".

After answering our questions, Hector was kind enough to even sign a dedacotira in our copies of his book, so that when we make our rice dishes for friends and family, we know that they come out so good thanks to his advice. And you, rice cooks, do you already have your copy?
