How to programme your Mimcook - 2024
Innovation is everywhere, everything gets a new coat of paint and new and additional features that we love more than the previous version, and the Mimcook paella cooking robot is no exception to this upgrade process.
The new version of the Mimcook Pro and Mimcook GO abandons its Excel file to include a touch screen and a customised software system, simpler and more user friendly, with which you can add your new recipes, modify them to your liking and make sure that in every restaurant of your franchise your recipes are made to perfection, as if each one was the first time it has been made.
In this blog post, we explain how to update your Mimcook and program your own rice and paella recipes.
First power on - Explanation of user interface
First of all, connect your Mimcook Smart Paella Maker to the WiFi and switch it on. When you do so, the display should show you the following start menu:
A picture is worth a thousand words and the screen speaks for itself, but we see fit to indicate the options that we can find in this menu:
-On the top left we have the icon of the house, this serves as the home button, pressing it will take us directly back to this home interface no matter where else in the menu we are. On the right side, we can see the wi-fi signal, clicking on it will allow us to modify or add a wi-fi network to our Mimcook.
Below this we can find the recipe selection, if no recipe is currently selected, it will allow us to select a new one, in case there is already a recipe, selecting this option will allow us to manipulate the current recipe, as well as to cancel it in case it is in the process of preparation.
-On the top right we have an icon of 3 stripes, these serve as an additional extensible menu, which, when pressed, will show us a list of options, such as creating or configuring a user or modifying the parameters of our smart burner. To the right of it there is a flag, which indicates the current language of the interface and, by clicking on it, we can change the language of the interface.
At the bottom of this we can find the current temperature of the paella, as well as an indicator of the status of the fires, if they are active, at what power they are...
-Finally, in the upper part of the centre, we find the timer, which will show us at all times the time remaining for the recipe to finish and be ready to serve.
First power on - Parameters menu
Let's go deeper into the different options you can find inside the parameters menu, a very important menu, as it is where we can determine many of the features of our Mimcook:
In this menu the following parameters can be set:
- Temperature unit: Choice of Celsius, Kelvin or Fahrenheit.
- Extra drying power: Defines the power of the fires applied by default during the extra drying phases.
- Extra drying time: Defines how long the additional drying phase lasts.
- Minimum number of guests to use 2 fires: Defines the minimum number of guests for which the small and medium fires will be used. For fewer guests, only the small fire is to be used.
- Minimum number of diners to use 3 fires: Defines the minimum number of diners for which the 3 fires will be used, for a smaller number of diners only 1 or 2 fires will be used.
- Safety shutdown: Time in minutes for the mimcook to shut down for safety.
- Display sensitivity: Defines the sensitivity detected for using the mimcook display.
We can also access the advanced parameters menu:
Pressing the right side arrow of the menu, as if we want to go to the next menu, will display a security alert as we are changing factory settings.
To go to the advanced parameters, press and hold the ‘Yes’ button for 10 seconds. At this point a menu will appear with some selectable settings:
Fire power: Allows you to change the fire power during firing.
Phase time: Allows the change of times during firing.
Phase change: Allows you to move within the recipe easily.
Auto Off: Causes the pilot flame to go out after a certain time.
Ideally, and only if the mimcooks are operated by experts, we recommend that ‘Phase Time’ and ‘Auto Off’ are deactivated, while the others are activated.
First power on - Update software
With our Mimcook turned on and its parameters modified to our liking, it is time to start making paellas... or maybe not yet, although we can start cooking, the most convenient thing would be to first update the software of our Mimcook.
To do this, click or select on the wifi signal icon and connect your Mimcook to the wifi network of your choice, once connected, click on the ‘play’ icon on the bottom left, your Mimcook will connect to the server and automatically download and apply the latest version of the Mimcook software.
If for some reason this is not possible, don't worry, there are other ways to update your Mimcook, as there is the option to download the update file and put it on a flash drive. By visiting the mimcook solutions website, we can download the file, plug the USB flash drive into the USB port and turn on the Mimcook, the system will automatically start to update itself on power up.
How to create our own recipes for our Mimcook
Everything updated and ready, now we just need to connect to the Wifi and log in with our username and password. The latter can be created on the mimcook solutions website, where you can also find predefined recipes and create your own.
This last process is easy thanks to the new web recipe creator, and to make it easier for you, Mimcook has provided a step-by-step video where you can learn how to introduce your star recipes in your own Mimcook:
Don't be scared by the length of the video, as it is an in-depth explanation of each step, additional details and options we can add when including our own recipes, but the process is easy and intuitive.
How to include your recipes in your Mimcook
You've already included all your recipes - including your star dish - now it's time to move them from your computer to your Mimcook, there are two ways to do this:
- Connect your Mimcook to your My Mimcook Zone login and password, within the menu, select update recipes and, with the Wifi turned on, you will see a web signal sign, click on it to automatically update your recipes.
-Download your recipes from Mimcook solutions, put the file on a pendrive and connect it to your Mimcook. From here, access the menu and click on ‘update recipes’, select the USB icon and let your recipes update to the Mimcook.
We hope this guide has helped you to get your Mimcook ready to make paella and rice dishes, enjoy your smart burner, get cooking!
