Gourmet quality Bahia and Senia varieties (round and short, great absorptive capacity) and 100 per cent producer guaranteed Valencian Denomination of Origin. Produced at the Albufera Natural Park since 1986 (a “Wetland of International Importance” since 1989), which guarantees that they are completely free of pesticides and herbicides, etc. Furthermore, no chemical products of any kind are added during processing. The authentic Valencian rice produced for centuries in your Original Paella.
Our short grain rice, cultivated in the fields of Valencia, adheres to the grain all the flavor of the broth and its ingredients and all the aroma from the cooking. So much so that we can appreciate the difference of a rice cooked with firewood as we can also notice that nuance.
It is a pleasure for the most demanding palates. We recommend that you always have it in your kitchen; it is a guaranteed success to prepare any paella.
These varieties are characterized for being a fine delicate rice (maximum of 18 minutes cooking) and with great absorptive capacity (1 part rice / 2 parts liquid), offering the non-sticky sensation you want for each individual grain. This is the favorite rice of master paella chefs.
Guide - Types of rice- Senia Rice
Senia Rice is characterized for having a more creamy and moist grain, this moisture serves as a vehcile so as to make it more receptive for flavor, but at the very same time it makes it more difficult to separate, meaning that the looseness of the grain is inferior to other types of rice.
It is a soft grain tath can't take overcooking very well, so we recommend not going further than 16 minutes when cooking it.
